Two Scottish joinery manufacturers have installed Centauro semi-automatic mortisers to speed up and simplify the mortising of window and door components.
Forfar-based Alex Sturrock & Son says the Centauro BD/N-Z horizontal swing chisel mortiser has made its mortising operation 50% faster, while Natural Windows & Doors of Cowdenbeath has found the machine quick to program, versatile and accurate.
JJ Smith & Co Woodworking Machinery, of Liverpool, supplied the Centauros, which are designed to eliminate bottlenecks in the mortising process.
The technology is capable of storing up to 99 different machining lists.
