Pentos Office Furniture plc has installed a £90,000 extraction plant from DISA to speed production at its Ripley, Derbyshire factory.
Production had to be halted every hour with the old extraction system to switch on the electrical shakers so that the filter bags could be shaken down. The new DISA NFK 2000 modular chain filter allows continuous production.
The unit extracts dust and chips from two angular beam saws, two wall saws in the saw shop, two IMA combination lines and two recently-installed machines – a Homag single edgebander and a Homag double-ended tenoner in the adjacent sizing section. Woodwaste is discharged into sealed containers which are taken away for landfill.
