Irish sawmiller ECC showed off its ability to produce eased-edge C16 timber following a €5m investment in a planing and added-value line.

The company was part of a large Irish presence at the show, though ECC was the only company to have its own dedicated stand, which also promoted its range of fencing products.

Sales executive Luke O’Malley was pleased with the quality of visitors at Timber Expo and the enquiries the company received.

“I’m very confident we will take new business from the show,” he said, adding that its timber focus was a large attraction for ECC.

“Ninety-eight per cent of the people we’ve met know their timber. It’s not like other shows where there’s the ecological and biomass bits; it’s all about timber.”

ECC said it had grown its business “quite dramatically” in the past 10 months.
