A state-of-the-art extraction and filtration system has been installed at the Leeds factory of furniture manufacturer Gower by industrial ventilation engineer Indusvent.
Pressure on production at the factory has mounted as Gower’s turnover has grown from £18m to £27m in the last year.
The ageing chain filter system became increasingly unable to cope with the 72 tons of chipboard dust produced each week – but replacing it was not an option as it would require unacceptable downtime.
Indusvent specified a compact negative pressure Super-Blower filter which could be installed in four days while the existing system was still operating.
As well as freeing up valuable extra space, the system will give Gower substantial savings in electrical energy consumption, reduce operating costs, increase capacity and give environmental benefits.
