Poppers Holding BV of Holland has acquired Dublin-based Senco Fastening Systems (IRL) Ltd in a move designed to help it gain business in the Irish timber frame industry.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, has resulted in the company changing its name to Poppers Senco Ireland Ltd. It will continue to trade from its existing address and all personnel have been retained.

Poppers took over UK distribution for Senco two years ago and has since made inroads into the timber frame industry.

New managing director Erik Kuijper said: “The Irish company has been doing a great job in setting up the distribution network. Now we have to get into industrial end uses”

As well as Senco nail and stapling tools and fasteners, the new company will offer Muro collated screw systems and Poppers brand products, which include screws and fasteners; compressors; pneumatic screwdrivers and sanders, wood clamps and expanding foam.
