There has been a flurry of activity in Ercol’s design department and the company has launched several new ranges onto the market – with the promise of more to follow later this year.

The new Bosco Dark bedroom collection, which features a signature finger-joint detail, comprises a bed, a six drawer tall chest, a five drawer wide chest and a side table, all of which are made from solid oak.

As well as the dark iteration, Bosco is also available in a clear matt lacquer finish.

Also in oak or in a clear matt finish is the Forli sofa collection. Designed with a compact home environment in mind, the Forli collection features turned solid oak legs and contemporary textured fabrics.

“This collection combines signature elements of Ercol’s traditional craft with a modern and invigorating design,” said Rachel Galbraith, Ercol’s creative designer.

“The contrast between the texture of the fabrics and the solid oak frame is something of beauty and truly allows this piece of crafted furniture to stand out.”

The new Lara chair is made from solid ash and is available in a clear matt lacquer for a natural finish or in a Scandi-noir black. It features a classic steam-bent back rest and circular dish detailing on the seat. It’s light on the eye but is robust and has been designed to allow the chairs to be stacked.

Meanwhile, the Lugo collection is constructed from solid tulipwood and, said the company, takes its inspiration from mid-century Nordic design. It features angled legs, exposed tenon joints and recessed handles that are cut out from solid doors and drawers.

The collection includes a dining table and chairs and a display cabinet.

The company says a further nine collections will launch soon, in time for the next season.
