A Leeds-based shed manufacturer has trebled its production capacity since moving to a purpose-built factory and investing up to £2m in machinery.
Woodlands Sheds can now make about 20,000 sheds annually, as well as producing fencing, summer houses and garages.
The company, run by brothers Chris and Dave Moran, has installed a Weinig moulding line, automatic nailing units, a new dust extraction system and other technology.
The investment has also allowed Woodlands to take on contract work from other manufacturers.
Woodlands chose a Dantherm Filtration Cattinair Cyclofilter dust extraction system to serve its machines.
The system, which replaced a smaller Dantherm filter, uses three individual Dantherm Nordfab Combifab fans and has a fully automated enclosed waste disposal station with accommodation for four boxcarts. Boxcarts are automatically changed, with a spare bay for an empty boxcart to wait its turn.
The company’s high speed production can fill a boxcart in less than three hours.
Woodlands’ former manufacturing facility in Leeds is now being used solely for the retail side of the business.
