It was interesting to read the article by Keith Fryer, “The merchant’s tale” , about how his company had successfully referred two cases to the Trading Standards Office.
Whatever or whoever we are in the timber products supply chain it is our duty to highlight such cases. The advice given to its members by the National Panel Products Division, in cases where mis-marking is suspected, is exactly the same – refer the matter to the Trading Standards Office.
Yes, the journey can be long, quite often complex and time-consuming, but in the end worthwhile. T Brewer & Co is to be applauded for its persistence.
