Builders merchant and joinery manufacturer Manningham Concrete has increased its timber production capacity by 150% after investing about £480,000 in machinery and a new freehold factory site in Bradford.
The expansion also gives Manningham the ability for the first time to make joinery “specials” for outside customers. Until now all its joinery has been supplied for in-house merchanting stock.
Equipment purchased includes a DCS Nordfab extraction system, Weinig six-head and five-head moulders, a Paoloni dimension saw and a Weinig tool sharpener. Existing machinery was also transferred from another site.
DCS Nordfab installed extraction ducting leading from all production machinery to a Combifab SO 40-560 fan unit, which discharges the woodwaste into a NFK2000 filter plant. From there the waste is transferred to a sealed trailer via a drag-chain scraper conveyor and rotary valve.
Manningham supplies the joinery and building trade with finished timber goods, dado, skirting and architrave.
