A former chairman of the Woodworking Machinery Suppliers’ Association has created a new company, Elliott Technology Ltd, to take over the business of St Neots-based Elliott Machinery Ltd.

Ian Croft, who has spent more than 20 years selling woodworking machinery, invested £15,000-20,000 in buying the assets of Elliott Machinery including spare parts and the customer database of the former company, following the retirement of its owners Mike and Felicity Hill.

The business will operate from a rented modern premises near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, supplying specialised machinery including profile sanders, shrink wrapping cramps, handling equipment, veneering machinery, hydraulic presses and laser cutting equipment.

The company acts as agents for Technolegno (profile sanders), CPC (cramps and shrink wrap plants), SEI (laser machinery) and Makor (finishing and handling machines). It is also an area distributor for Biesse.

Stock includes a variety of abrasive wheels and sanding belts.
