For German glulam producer Nordlam, attendance at Interbuild was an opportunity to see what was going on in the UK market.

The company already has three customers in the UK and had four appointments during the show.

Sales manager Klaus Harz said there were “a lot” of German competitors in the Timber Zone and he hoped Nordlam’s stand would move into the zone next year.

Mr Harz said visitors were very friendly compared with German exhibitions. Nordlam expects to receive a PEFC certificate by the start of 2008.

Nordlam, which carries beams in stock up to 24m in length, expects to produce 150,000m³ of glulam this year.
