A Boere Sandrite 1100KC wide-belt sander has been installed at Rochdale Wood Products to finish a wide variety of products.
The Sandrite, which cost about £18,000, is being used in Rochdale’s 25,000ft2 factory to finish kitchen cabinet components, including face frames, wooden drawer boxes, architectural joinery, accessories such as canopies and wine and plate rack frontals.
The company also specified the new sander to pre-finish and finish one-off pieces.
The Sandrite has a working width of 1100mm and will accept workpieces as thick or high as 150mm. Its 1100x1900mm dimension sanding belts are on two special heads equipped with a contact roller and combi unit and driven by a 25hp motor.
Workpieces pass underneath the heads at an infinitely variable speed of between 4-15m/min.
