The BM TRADA Certification Q-Mark for engineered flooring was presented to the Screedflo acoustic flooring system at Interbuild.
The certification covers James Jones’ JJI joists, MiTek’s Posi-joist, Boise BCI I-joist and FinnJoist from Finnforest.
Screedflo consists of layers of acoustic foam, high-density fibreboard and Screedflo Anhydrite screed, on top of an I-joist sub-floor. The system is designed to give a solid feel to floors and achieve a performance which is 10dB better than Building Regulations.
Screedflo managing director Mark Baillie said the system was being used by Bellway for its apartment projects, while talks were also being held with other large national housebuilders.
