John Kissock and Michael Leslie retired as joint managing directors of James Jones & Sons Ltd this week.
Mr Leslie will remain on the board as a non-executive director, and Mr Kissock is being retained by the company as a consultant.
Non-execdutive chairman Tom A Bruce-Jones said the two men, who have been executive directors of the company since 1985, had made “an outstanding contribution to the growth and success of the business”.
“It has been a privilege for me to have worked alongside them both and, together with all colleagues, I wish them health and happiness in retirement,” he said.
Ian Pirie and Tom R Bruce-Jones take over as joint managing directors, with Robin Stevenson as finance director. As general managers, Neil Snedden and Eddie Balfour will have responsibility for the sawmills in north and south Scotland respectively, and Brian Robertson heads up the Timber Systems Division based in Forres. Gil Covey remains managing director of Unit Pallets Ltd. Two new senior managers have been appointed: David Leslie, in charge of wood procurement, and Graham Blyth, in charge of sawn timber sales.
