The software licence agreement with Altanis extends to all of Sonae‘s plants worldwide. The system is designed to deliver cutting plans with mimimum waste, maximise machine use and reduce production costs.

Altanis’s software will be adapted to the requirements of each Sonae plant because of the variety of production machinery among the different factories.

With the acquisition of Hornitex in Germany, Sonae faces the task of streamlining its production processes and integrating the production support systems of the different plants into its worldwide SAP system.

Altanis said pCut’s fully integrated nature enabled Sonae to move swiftly towards that goal.

Other companies which use pCut optimisation solutions include Pfleiderer, Unilin and the Krono Group.
