Tension-free cutting was the news on Elcon’s improved Advance2 Quadra vertical panel saw.

Elcon director Pieter Meijer explained that sometimes cutting on vertical panel saws could be slightly curved due to panel tension, gravity and because the panel is held at the top and bottom.

The problem has been solved by using an initial reference cut to release tension in panels, which Elcon claims is a first in vertical panel sawing.

The Advance2 Quadra, which operates in three axes and cuts rough panels to end product, determines where to cut the tension out.
