Xylatec Group, incorporating blade and tool specialists Leuco and Stehle, was intent on making a big splash. It had its biggest stands to date, with Leuco setting up an area surrounded by purple ‘palings’ bearing the names of the staff on the stand.

According to Joachim Wolf, vice-president marketing and business development, the reason for the big presence was twofold; to back the introduction of a range of new products, notably coated blades, and to flag the launch of online product catalogues.

Ligna is a major event for us in terms of new developments and we wanted to make an impression,” he said.

He maintained that the online facilities (www.leuco. com and www. stehle-int.com) were among the most advanced in the tooling market. “We believe that no other sites have this level of detailed information,” he said. “The benefits are that the data is always up to date and the order processing is very quick and efficient.”
