Show organiser the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (Eumabois) said 344 exhibitors attended Indiawood, which covered 17,000m2.

Some 25 countries were counted among the exhibitors, while seven pavilions represented American hardwood, Brazil, China, Germany, Italy, Spain and Taiwan.

Stefan Vander Stichele, export manager at Willy Carpentier Woodindustry, described the show as a “very good fair”. “Indiawood is really ‘the gate’ to open the Indian market.”

The American Hardwood Export Council co-sponsored and co-ordinated the American hardwood pavilion and reported more than 200 Indian wood trade representatives at its two lumber grading workshops.
