A Weeke BHC550 CNC machining centre is helping Wardrop Joinery secure business in the growing security door frame market.

The company, which operates from a 20,000ft2 factory at Gorleston near Great Yarmouth, says the Weeke allows frames to be manufactured to any size or shape in either the portcullis style or based on a solid core.

The BHC550, supplied by Homag UK, was specified to include processing of horizontal edges for dedictated lock fittings, while face working called for a grooving saw to work in the C-axis. Workpiece clamping needed to be as versatile as possible.

Wardrop partner Paul Hanton said the machine’s flexibility has helped the company, which also produces shop and bar fittings and retail display units, as well as completing individual architectural contracts.

Weeke’s BHC range retails from £40,000.
