MiTek launched X-Rafter, a prefabricated, pre-insulated roofing system as a flexible room-in-the-roof solution to meet the trend for narrow-fronted deep-span three-storey townhouses.
Roy Troman, sales and marketing director, said Posi-Strut technology, which X-Rafter features, reduces the amount of steel in a roof and has weight and safety advantages.
The system arrives on site insulated, felted and counter battened, with an achievable U-value of 0.17W/m²K.
MiTek reports interest from national housebuilders, with the product being trialled by Pasquill Roof Trusses.
