Modified wood producer Accsys Technologies has reported a continuing rise in Accoya sales for the full year ended March 2025.
Total group sales volumes for the period April 2024 – March 2025 increased by 13% year-on-year. In North America, sales volumes grew by 16% compared to the previous year, highlighting the strong market potential for the Accoya USA joint venture, which successfully began commercial operations last summer.
In its trading update published on May 7, Accsys said it sold 63,864m3 of Accoya in the 12 months due to strong product demand against a challenging market backdrop.
“Since outlining our strategic objectives in January, our focus has firmly shifted to execution-and I’m pleased to report we are delivering,” said Dr Jelena Arsic van Os.
“We are firmly on track with Phase I of our FOCUS Strategy, driving sustainable, profitable growth.”
Created through a proprietary acetylation process developed by Accsys, softwoods are transformed into a new product (Accoya) with superior durability and stability, challenging the performance of tropical hardwoods.
Windows, doors, cladding, and decking are typical applications.
Accsys intends to have a run rate sales volume of 100,000m³ at the end of FY27. Phase 2 “Optimise” (FY28-30) will focus on implementing operational efficiencies to deliver the full capacity of the two plants – Arnhem & Kingsport, Tennessee.
In Phase 3 “Grow” (FY30+), the company plans to pursue further growth opportunities supported by a strong balance sheet.
