Dutch modified wood producer Titan Wood has received Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) chain of custody certification.

The company, which produces Accoya modified wood and is a subsidiary of UK-based Accsys Technologies plc, said the receipt of FSC and PEFC certification highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and manufacturing products from responsibly managed forests.

“We have always viewed the attainment of PEFC and FSC certification as essential to the success of Accoya wood,” said Bert Kattenbroek, sales and marketing manager at Titan Wood. “We are very proud to have achieved this less than three months after our new production facility went into operation.”

Accsys Technologies has recently announced a stock market flotation on Euronext Amsterdam, with five million new shares and 10 million existing shares available in order to generate funds to double the manufacture of materials at the facility in Arnhem; improve brand and product marketing, including promoting Accoya as a material suitable for civil and structural applications; increase staff numbers and licensing levels; and advance the technology used to produce panel products on a commercial scale.
