Administrators have managed to sell two parts of the Mackintosh & Partners Group and are confident in securing a deal for the main business based at Small Dole, Sussex.

The company went into administration on July 23 but administrators at the Brighton office of Tenon Recovery have already sold the Port Slade-based importing operation McWiltons Ltd and the Macintosh & Partners Timber Ltd merchanting business in Potters Bar.

The group, one of southern England’s leading manufacturers of planed and moulded timber for the furniture and timber trades, had racked up losses in excess of £1m.

Joint administrator Andy Pear said negotiations were taking place with several interested parties regarding the main part of the business – Macintosh & Partners (London) Ltd, based at Small Dole.
