American Softwoods has been relaunched in the UK under the directorship of Charles Trevor.
Mr Trevor, the former managing director of timber promotional campaign Wood for Good, said a new focus would be brought to the work of American Softwoods.
“American producers are keen to do business in the UK and are able to supply high class, well graded material suitable for many different end uses,” said Mr Trevor.
New information and technical guidance has been produced in the form of three new brochures focusing on the environmental credentials of Southern yellow pine, as well as profiles and decks.
The organisation is also working with the Timber Decking and Cladding Association to develop three seminars for the timber industry, the first taking place during Timber Expo at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry in September, the second in London on October 5 and the third in Leeds on October 12.
A series of advertisements has been created focusing on low carbon, low impact and naturally renewable key messages, while a new website is in development.
