Chris Smith, Arch Timber Protection’s regional sales manager for the north of England, has helped to raise more than £1,500 for Leukaemia Research by completing the Big Woody long distance triathlon.

Held at the National Diving and Activity Centre in Chepstow, the event comprised a 2.4-mile open water swim and a 112-mile bike ride followed by a 26.2-mile run.

“Entering the triathlon was the easy part,” said Mr Smith. “Completing it took a little over 13 hours and was a tough but thoroughly rewarding experience. I even managed a semi-sprint finish in the drizzle for hardy supporters.”
