Great Southern Plantations of Australia has highlighted a growing interest in the sector by investors.
The company reported A$50m prospectus sales since July 2003, up 166% on a year ago.
Private forestry development committee Timber 20-20 welcomed the result as good news for the region and said it showed the timber industry was still an important area to invest in.
