Timber frame and truss manufacturer Bartram Manufacturing has invested over £500,000 in new Hundegger production technology.
The manufacturer, which also produces engineered floor joists and is based in Sandy, Bedfordshire, invested in two Hundegger Turbo Drive cutting machines.
The investment is designed to position Bartram to further expand its already successful operation, improve control over timber usage, and streamline the processing of engineered timber products supplied to builders across the region.
In a twist of coincidence, MD James Bartram was the very first-person Hundegger UK’s Chris Osborne connected with when he joined Hundegger 12 years ago.
“James is amused by that fact and pleased to have finally made the decision after years of careful consideration and after seeing nearly 200 Hundegger machines now operating across the UK and Ireland helped his confidence,” said Mr Osborne.
One of the Hundegger Turbo Drives is dedicated to truss and timber‑frame components, and the second is long enough to process Kerto LVL and I‑Joists.
The investment is designed to support Bartram’s ability to manage the millions of pounds it spends on raw materials each year, while providing the capacity needed to meet its growing business demands.
Both machines will be installed by the end of H2 in 2026.
