Professor Michael Benfield, managing director of the Benfield ATT Group, has been installed as a chartered environmentalist.
The ceremony, at the the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), installed Prof Benfield as one of 4,300 chartered environmentalists worldwide, who work to promote the recognition of the increasing environmental challenges facing all sections of society.
Drawn from all professions, chartered environmentalists work in key environmental and sustainability roles for industry, government, education and business..
“Addressing the complex demands inherent in our search for truly sustainable development requires collaboration,” said Prof Benfield. “It demands the pooling of collective experience, knowledge and competence, together with our engagement across all professions and sectors of society, especially the built environment.”
