Timbmet has reported successful acoustic (sound reduction) testing on standard thickness Blankfort timber core doors.
The company said the testing had further redefined the boundaries of what can be achieved with a standard thickness timber core door.
A total of 66 acoustic tests were conducted on Blankfort at UKAS-accredited Sound Research Laboratories, covering single doors, pairs of doors, flush doors and glazed doors
Timbmet said 45mm flush and glazed doors achieved up to 35dB sound reduction as single leaves and pairs, while 54mm Blankfort flush pairs achieved 36dB sound reduction and 54mm glazed doors recorded 38dB reduction.
The company plans to download test data onto its website, along with the required acoustic seal configurations.
