A further Timber Fire Doors Explained one-day seminar is to be staged by BM TRADA Certification and Chiltern International Fire.
The event, at Chiltern’s Hughenden Valley test laboratory on May 25, is aimed at manufacturers, installers, building control inspectors, NHS fire officers/estate managers, contractors and architects. More than 1,000 people have attended the seminar series since it was first introduced three years ago.
A full-scale fire test will be conducted on two similar doorsets to demonstrate testing procedures and show how minor flaws in design, manufacture and installation can have a big impact on fire resistance performance.
The programme will also explain regulatory requirements, fire door assessment and certification, correct installation and design issues, as well as providing an introduction to BM TRADA Certification’s Q-Mark fire doors scheme.
