The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) is to combine its centenary celebrations with a round of golf at the Belfry and its annual members’ day.
The three events, on October 6-7, are part of the organisation’s 100th anniversary, as it “pulls out all the stops to celebrate 100 years since a group of like-minded builders’ merchants created a trade association to represent their interests”.
The BMF Belfry Golf Challenge is to be staged at the world-renowned Brabazon Course on the day of October 6, with the centenary dinner taking place in the evening at the Belfry Hotel.
The members’ day will then take place on October 7 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, with members discussing the credit crunch; logistics and fuel costs; benchmarking and industry statistics; and the latest on the BMF Environmental Code, as well as partaking in the inaugural supplier members’ meeting in the afternoon.
This will be broken down into five areas, including bricks, blocks and civils; lightside, tools and hardware; cement, plaster and insulation; heating and plumber; and roofing and timber, allowing members to discuss specific issues in product-based syndicates.
