The 10th FSC certificate was awarded to logging company PT Indexim Utama in East Kalimantan, adding a further 52,480ha of certified forest.
The Borneo Initiative aims to boost FSC-certified forest in Indonesia and the surrounding countries by 4 million ha in 2014 to hit 8 million ha in 2016.
The initiative was started in the Netherlands with the aim of boosting supply and demand for legally and sustainably produced tropical hardwood.
