The BRE will give a breakdown on “New Technologies in Timber” at a Nottingham lecture this month.

The free interactive event will cover innovative and sustainable technologies, with an opportunity to see demonstration products manufactured by BRE.

Specific topics will be timber in construction, sustainability benefits, the local timber resource, innovative end uses through re-engineered timber and value-adding opportunities.

The BRE said 100,000m³ of timber was harvested every year in the East Midlands region, with the majority of wood having potential for significant value-adding and business creation.
