BSW Timber’s redevelopment of Arjo Wiggins‘ Fort William paper mill has taken the next step with the destruction of a 210ft-high powerhouse.
In a controlled explosion, as pictured, the powerhouse was reduced to rubble in order to make way for construction of what is planned to be the UK’s largest sawmill.
“It heralds an exciting future for the new sawmill, which will have twice the output of BSW’s current site,” said Andy Rogers, manager at BSW’s Fort William mill.
