BSW Timber has appointed Mick Bottomley as purchasing manager north.
Based at Fort William and Boat of Garten, Mr Bottomley succeeds John Pargeter who will retire at the end of 2012. Mr Pargeter will remain at BSW until the end of the year to drive projects and support his successor in his new role.
Mr Bottomley is a chartered forester and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to BSW Timber, with 25 years of industry experience, including 20 with the Forestry Commission. He also holds an MBA, specialising in strategic planning, from the Open University.
Welcoming the new appointment, Tony Hackney, BSW chief executive, said: “Mick’s appointment will strengthen our purchasing team in the north of the UK. Over the past 22 years, John Pargeter has performed the role to exceptional standards, and he will be missed when he retires at the end of this year. We are confident that Mick will bring a great deal of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to the role and we look forward to working with him as we grow our business in the north.”
