An action plan aimed at helping the joinery sector become more efficient and reduce waste was launched by the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) at W10.

John Fletcher, manager of the new Resource Efficiency Action Plan, said the scheme would focus on three areas: minimising waste by better procurement practices; improving waste management and introducing more commercially viable ways of collecting wood; and improving the understanding of woodwaste markets and legislation governing wood waste handling.

Seminars showing how joineries can reduce waste were run by the BWF at W10.

The BWF shared a stand with training provider Didac at the exhibition and used the show to network with joinery companies.
