The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) presented its Growth Fund Recognition Award to the BWF in recognition of its use of a CITB grant.
The BWF used the money to devise a series of events and tools to help members face new business and legislative challenges, including CE marking, Building Regulation changes and the EU Timber Regulation.
Training will continue at the BWF Members’ Day on April 25.
The BWF also developed an e-learning module to help woodworking firms manage their timber resources more effectively and to reduce waste.
"This initiative has significantly helped our member companies to gain the skills they need to innovate, cut costs and secure efficiencies during difficult economic times," said BWF training manager Dave Campbell.
