A UK office has been opened by the Latvian Byko group of companies for the sale of carcassing timber, fencing and garden products.
Production is at the Biko-Lat plant in Valmiera, which has regularising and treatment facilities on site and will be turning out about 100,000m3 this year. FSC chain of custody was awarded at the end of 2002.
The office of Byko UK Ltd at Woodbridge, Suffolk, is being run by Andrew Bullard, with Natalie Stear looking after accounts and sales administration. A website, www.byko.co.uk, will be operational shortly.
Production levels and the range of products available are expected to increase on an annual basis.
