The booming timber frame housing market has attracted a trade mission of Canadian housing and building products manufacturers to the UK looking for business development opportunities.

Jason Kee of the Canadian High Commission, which is hosting the mission, said the British government sees Canada as a leader in timber frame technology and wants to take advantage of its expertise to meet Egan Report criteria.

He added: ‘Demand for timber frame in the UK is very strong, but there could be a shortage in domestic supply.

‘The Canadian companies will be here looking for partners to work with and, during their stay, will investigate how their product can be adapted to the UK market.’
