AJ Charlton & Sons Ltd launched its centenary year at the Furniture Show 2003 with two new collections of solid hardwood furniture.
Ross Charlton, the fifth generation of the Charlton family to work for the Somerset company, joined sales and marketing director Allan Duncan in cutting a “100” years celebration cake using traditional timber tools.
The company, a hardwood sawmiller and flooring and furniture manufacturer, introduced its solid beech Beckington table and chairs at the NEC show to meet demand for lighter wood, while it also launched the Farrington Shaker-style oak dining table and chairs range. Another addition is a “zero lacquer” finish, designed to protect against hot liquids and staining.
