The 2007 World of Wood event, to be held in San Diego on March 28-30, will see Willem Wijnstekers speak about the CITES strategic planning process and provide insight on the upcoming CITES Conference of Parties, which will be relevant to the imported wood products industry.
“This timely presentation raises awareness to importers and their customers for how CITES works and what issues are on the horizon that can impact their business,” said IWPA executive vice-president Brent McClendon.
Other speakers will include Hardwood Review editor George Barrett and Jonathan Gold, of the US Customs and Border Protection Bureau.
The conference will bring together nearly 400 leading overseas timber product manufacturers, importers, US producers, port authorities, shipping companies and logistics providers.
