COFORD has launched two publications on forestry in Ireland.

“Forestry in Ireland – A Concise History” was written by former chief inspector of the Forest Service Niall O’Caroll and marks the centenary of the Irish forestry while “Trees, Forests and the Law in Ireland” sets out the legal position surrounding falling trees and shade damage from roots, as well as other issues.

  • The publication date of COFORD’s “Hardwood Matters” catalogue has been postponed until December 1.

The free catalogue will advertise hardwood stands and/or logs in an attempt to increase grower’s knowledge of what hardwood merchants require in terms of quality, species and volumes.

Anyone wishing to advertise hardwoods can download a form from www.coford.ie/hardwoodmatters/default.html.
