Councils and other organisations will share their knowledge and best practice of helping to create sustainable communities during a conference in London.

The “Sustainable Communities: Vision into Reality” event at the QE II Conference Centre on December 5 was conceived by Blackpool Council and the Beacon Project, Falmouth – the respective winners of the government’s Sustainable Communities Award in 2004 and 2003.

The conference, backed by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, is aimed at local authority directors or heads of service and leading officers from organisations including housing associations, health trusts, plus fire and rescue.
