Buckinghamshire-based Crendon Timber Engineering has signed a deal with Canadian company DAC International to design, supply and erect energy efficient homes in the UK using Canadian Super E technology.

The Super E housing programme, which teams up UK building companies with Canadian housing exporters, is run by the Canadian government.

Philip Bell, managing director of Crendon Timber Engineering, said his company was one of the first five companies to start manufacturing roof trusses nearly 40 years ago, and the first to offer an erection service for complex roof structures on a large scale. The company was also the first Trust Joist dealer to be appointed in England in the early nineties.

He said: “Over the years these developments have given Crendon differentiation in the market place and our new and exciting Super E partnership will provide added credibility and help strengthen our range of products and services to our customers.”

Jeff Armstrong, director of DAC International, said his company is enthusiastic about the marketing prospects for Super E in the UK given the government’s commitment to off-site manufacturing, the adoption of modern methods of construction and the requirements for Part L in 2006.
