Malaysian customs officials have seized 134.5 tonnes of sawn rubberwood in containers falsely declared as vacuum moulding machines.
The four containers of timber, worth nearly M$100,000, were impounded at the North Butterworth Container Terminal, Penang Port. A man was detained in connection with the seizure.
Malaysian law stipulates that special permits must be obtained for exporting rubberwood sawn timber.
