Backed by Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Forest Industries Cluster, the conference is supported by the e-Business Forum. As well as looking at what has been achieved by the industry so far, potential new opportunities will be discussed.

Aimed at growers, harvesters, hauliers and processors, topics will include mapping the supply chain, monitoring strategic cash flow, optimising timber transport, scanning logs at sawmills and remote sensing.

The organisers say that while Scotland’s forestry companies have steadily increased their use of e-business, they still lag slightly behind other sectors in the use of IT which can lead to increased efficiency and reduced costs.
