The European Commission has imposed provisional anti-dumping duties of 5.4% on softwood plywood imports from Brazil.

The duties are outlined in the official statement published earlier this month by the Commission.

On 6 March 2025, the European Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation with regard to imports of softwood plywood from Brazil. This followed a complaint lodged on 20 January 2025 by the Softwood Plywood Consortium, alleging dumping resulting in material injury.

Imports of Brazilian softwood plywood rose about 30% between 2021 and the investigation period, when consumption in the EU actually fell by 7%. EU production and profitability dropped substantially during the period.

The average price of dumped imports was found to be €302/m³, compared to €508/m³ for EU producers.

Provisional duties of 5.4% have been levied on Compensados Sudati Ltda, Conply Indústria de Compensados Ltda, and Indústria de Compensados Guararapes Ltda.

Nereu Rodrigues & Cia Ltda was exempeted.
