Dr Carlos Bianchi di Aguiar, chief executive officer of Sonae Indústria, will give the keynote address on “The Wood Industry – Environmenal Impacts and Modern Methods to Minimise Them”.
Subjects being covered include international forest certification systems, natural durability of timber, chemical free and environmentally-friendly wood protection methods, bio-based resins for wood composite materials, eco construction and bonding of laminated veneers using heat and pressure only.
