Cumbrian timber frame house manufacturer Eden Frame has completed its first luxury development near Penrith.

The company specified Excel Building Solutions’ Tradis range of factory-produced wall panels and roof plates for the four low-energy homes at Leith Close, Cliburn.

Excel says use of its panels provided twice the level of insulation required by Building Regulations.

The homes, erected in just three days, also benefit from a room-in-the-roof space, photovoltaic cells which generate 50% of electricity requirements and a heat exchanger which uses household heat to warm fresh filtered air.

Trevor Lowis, partner at Eden Frame, said: “Our aim with Leith Close has been to create a development of luxury homes which have a minimal impact on the environment, to showcase what can be achieved through the use of sustainable building materials.”
