Egger plant goes into operation in the US

Egger’s first plant in North America – the new particleboard operation at Lexington, North Carolina – has produced its first board.

After a construction period of over two years and an investment of around €440m, the plant now becomes Egger’s 20th plant worldwide.

In keeping with tradition, the project team gathered at the Siempelkamp ContiRoll press to produce the first raw chipboard and proudly signed the result.

In full operation, the production capacity will be 650,000m3 of raw particleboard per year, a large part of which will be finished with decorative surfaces.

The new location creates 400 new jobs, with 290 employees already employed at the site. successful in Europe.
